Sincerest thanks to our contributors and 570 guests who made the inaugural Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Gala a sold-out success in celebrating 85 years of Chrysler heritage and providing a great foundation for our Museum’s multi-year, multi-million dollar Legacy Campaign.

Through your support, the Legacy Gala generated more than $1 million in contributions, ticket sales and auction proceeds.

It was a spectacular evening as the Museum honored four very special guests with the first-ever Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Award.

  • Former Chrysler Chairman and CEO Lee Iacocca
  • Comedian and Car Collector Jay Leno
  • NASCAR Champion Richard Petty
  • Former Chrysler Design Chief and father of the famed Forward Look, Virgil Exner (inducted posthumously, represented by his son, Virgil Exner, Jr.)

Visit Gala Photos for highlights of the evening’s:

  • Strolling dinner throughout the Museum’s three floors
  • Legacy Circle induction ceremony
  • Full-length performance by Jay Leno
  • Dessert and coffee afterglow

The Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Circle
The Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Circle celebrates Chrysler heritage and the people who were instrumental in forming the company’s rich history, as well as played a vital role in the Museum’s establishment and/or continuing evolution. It also honors persons who have made a significant impact on the auto enthusiast and collector hobbies.

Ceremonies to induct honorees into the Legacy Circle are a highlight of the Walter P. Chrysler Legacy Gala.  Inductees will be permanently recognized through the Walter P. Chrysler Legacy wall, on exhibit at the Museum.
